Amidst the ongoing protests occurring nationwide following the death of George Floyd, New Orleans Saints quarterback was asked Wednesday about protesting. Brees responded that he opposes the taking of a knee during the national anthem as an appropriate way to show dissent.

This has caused quite a stir. While some agree with Brees' comments, for the most part they have drawn criticism.

One of those people was Brees' own teammate, wide receiver Michael Thomas. Another person who disagrees: Rap icon Snoop Dogg.

Snoop Dogg took to Twitter to reply to Brees' take. And he was quick to bring out the NSFW language.

Snoop Dogg certainly did not mince words. He was direct and to the point.

The rapper has long made his stance known about peaceful protests during the national anthem, so this should not come as much of a surprise. He has also been a longtime supporter of the still-unemployed quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who popularized kneeling on the sidelines during the anthem as a way for NFL players to protest police brutality.

Brees is certainly entitled to his own opinion. So far, it does not seem to be a very popular one amongst his peers. Football players, not just his own teammates, basketball players and now rappers are all weighing in on the comments made by the quarterback.

Tension are running high across the nation and world. So opinions on controversial topics are certainly going to get strong reactions, whether in support or dissent.

At least now we all know where Snoop Dogg stands on the situation, and it's not on the side of Drew Brees.
