Teams around the NFL have started to take precautions against the recent outbreak of the coronavirus. As a result, many are already bracing for looming changes to their usual offseason schedule.

There has already been plenty of speculation regarding the league's plans for the 2020 NFL Draft. According to Judy Battista of NFL.com, one anonymous team owner is expecting there to be a delay in the start of training camp:

In wake of NFL officially announcing indefinite delay of off-season program, I heard from one team owner. He told me he would be surprised if teams will be able to report any time before training camp.

The prospect of NFL teams having to delay training camp is certainly not far-fetched. Every major professional sports league has put their activities on hold until the ongoing outbreak is at least contained. Of course, any sense of a timetable still has yet to be revealed.

Delaying NFL training camp could have major repercussions on team's ability to prepare for the 2020 NFL season. This rings even more true for teams like the Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams, and Los Angeles Chargers that are preparing to usher in a new era at their respective stadiums following their recent relocations.

The NFL could be forced to consider pushing back the scheduled date for the 2020 opener.

For now, NFL teams are focused on proceeding with business as usual with free agency set to begin. Meanwhile, the scouting process for the draft is still in full swing despite the restrictions teams have placed on their staff.
