The NFL has been looking at contingency plans for training camps and the 2020 NFL season due to the coronavirus pandemic. With training camps just a couple of months away, teams are beginning to explore out of state options.

For the most part, the NFL has taken a business as usual approach to the offseason despite the coronavirus remaining prevalent around the world. Just last month, the NFL held the 2020 NFL Draft virtually in an attempt to have some normalcy during these unusual times.

But with the draft in the rearview mirror, the league has turned it's attention to the next important offseason event — training camps. Of course, the NFL realizes that some states are going to be more strict than others for their stay-at-home orders.

Therefore, the league has made it clear that teams won't return to facilities until each team's state gives the go-ahead to return. By doing this, the NFL can assure that each team is on a level playing field in terms of the offseason.

As of this moment, training camps are scheduled to be conducted near the end of July. However, even though that's months away, it's unlikely that all states will allow events that feature more than 100 people by the time training camps are set to begin.

Provided that, some teams may have to relocate their training camps to a nearby state that allows them to have all of their players and coaches in one location. When training camps arrive, it's evident that it won't look the same as it has in previous years.
