Former NFL wide receiver Terrelle Pryor has been arrested on simple assault charges on Saturday after being stabbed, per a press release from Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.

Pryor was stabbed early Saturday at the Heinz Lofts apartment complex in Pittsburgh after an argument. A woman, identified as Shalaya Briston, also received injuries and is facing charges of aggravated assault and criminal homicide.

Pryor underwent surgery on Saturday morning to repair stab wounds in his shoulder and chest and, at the time, was considered to be in critical condition. However, he is now considered to be stable and is expected to make a full recovery.

The 30-year-old last appeared in an NFL game with the Buffalo Bills in November 2018. He played in two games with the Bills last season, logging a couple of catches for 17 yards. He began 2018 with the New York Jets, appearing in six contests and tallying 14 grabs for 235 yards and a pair of touchdowns before being released.

Pryor, who played his collegiate football as a quarterback at Ohio State, was originally selected by the Oakland Raiders in the third round of the 2011 NFL Supplemental Draft.

He made 10 starts under center in three seasons with the Raiders before joining the Cleveland Browns in 2015. He converted to wide out in 2016 and was a smash success, hauling in 77 receptions for 1,007 yards and four scores.

From that point moving forward, however, Pryor's impact was minimal, as he joined the Washington Redskins in 2017 and finished with just 20 catches for 240 yards and a touchdown.
