The Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams are both officially headed to the NFL playoffs, and it's been a while since that's happened in the city.

Philip Rivers and company clinched their spot in the playoffs on Thursday night in an incredible come-from-behind win over the Kansas City Chiefs, which saw the Chargers rally from two touchdowns down with less than four minutes remaining to earn the victory.

That allowed Anthony Lynn's group to join the Rams in the playoffs, which now gives the city of Los Angeles two playoff teams for the first time in 33 years, according to the NFL's research department.

Of course, considering how teams have bounced in and out of Los Angeles since that point, maybe this stat shouldn't come as a huge surprise. Still, it's a notable development since both teams also figure to have a great chance at winning a Super Bowl.

Despite struggling against the Chicago Bears in the Week 14, the Rams still feature one of the best offenses in the league and should have a great chance to bounce back this weekend against the struggling Philadelphia Eagles.

As for the Chargers, their win in Kansas City showed what they're capable of when they're at their best. And perhaps even more impressively, they did it without star running back Melvin Gordon on the field.

So, while the story for now is two Los Angeles teams being back in the playoffs, the story come January could be two Los Angeles teams meeting in the Super Bowl.
