It doesn't matter who wins or loses Super Bowl 53 — it matters who had the best commercial. Wait, what?

The Super Bowl commercials always make headlines — sometimes for the right reasons, sometimes for the wrong ones — and the commercials from Super Bowl 53 are no exception. Whether they're advertising beer or soda, home security or chips, candy or spiked seltzer, the Super Bowl commercials are, sometimes, the only reason to watch the game.

Here's our list of the Top 5 commercials from Super Bowl 53.

5. M&M's

Christina Applegate first came into our living rooms — and our hearts — as the dizzy but sweet Kelly Bundy on Married…With Children. Since then, she's become a beloved actress and activist — which makes her Super Bowl 53 commercial for M&M's all the more hilarious. Anyone who has children, or has ever baby-sat for children, understands the frustration of having your littlest passengers lock you out of the car. And the censorship of her swear words is, in a word, hilarious.

4. Amazon

Amazon may be in the middle of some, shall we say, changes, but their commercial advertising their ever-popular Alexa is a winner. Anything featuring a grumpy Harrison Ford — and his cute dog — is more than alright by us.

3. Bud Light

Talk about the ultimate cross-over — this is, without question, one of the best Super Bowl 53 ads, and one of the best Super Bowl ads in history. Featuring The Mountain and Drogon from Game of Thrones, with a hat-tip to one of the most infamous — and brutal — scenes in the show, this Bud Light commercial was directed by David Nutter, who also directed the infamous Game of Thrones episode called “The Rains of Castemere.” (Fans, of course, more colloquially call that episode “The Red Wedding.”)

2. Pringles

Another cross-over commercial, this Pringles commercial marks only the second time the chip company appeared in the Super Bowl ad lineup. In this re-imagining of the popular Amazon Alexa, the “smart home device” has a bit of an existential crisis, and is actually taking on the traits of a sentient being. A sign of the future?

1. Budweiser

This is the second time that Budweiser has appeared on this list of the best Super Bowl 53 commercials, and as usual, it takes the top spot. And it deserves the top spot thanks to its all-too-important message about renewable energy (and, specifically, wind energy). To top it all off, it features the all-too-appropriate “Blowin' in the Wind” by the legend, Bob Dylan.
