We are now a week into April, so NFL free agency has essentially come to a close with the draft looming later this month. However, there are still some solid players that remain unsigned.

One such example is safety Tre Boston, who doesn't understand why he hasn't found a home yet.

“Stats are beyond there! OBVIOUSLY!!” Boston wrote on his Twitter page. “The Players see it, the Fans see it, and are starting to question what’s going on. I like it, keep asking question,” Boston wrote.

Boston added that he is growing tired of having to sign “prove-it deals,” in reference to his last two one-year deals with the Los Angeles Chargers and Arizona Cardinals, respectively.

The 26-year-old is coming off of a solid 2018 campaign with the Cardinals in which he registered 79 tackles, three interceptions, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and nine passes defended.

Boston, who played his collegiate football at the University of North Carolina, was originally selected by the Carolina Panthers in the fourth round (128th pick overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

He spent the first three years of his career with the Panthers, with his best season with the club coming in 2016 when he tallied 52 tackles, a couple of sacks, a pair of picks and seven passes defended.

The Fort Myers, Fl. native then signed with the Chargers, where he recorded 79 tackles, five interceptions and eight passes defended in 2017.

Of course, some of the lack of interest in Boston could have to do with the fact that the 2019 free agency class was full of good safeties, but it does seem odd that a player as effective as Boston is still out there.
