Robert Kraft filed a motion earlier this week in Palm Beach County, FL to keep private all evidence in the human trafficking case in which the New England Patriots owner was charged last month. Unfortunately for Kraft, though, local law enforcement says video of the billionaire's illicit activity at Orchids of Asia Day Spa will eventually be made public regardless.
“I do think ultimately they are probably going to get released,” Martin County Sheriff William Snyder told CNBC's Scott Zamost on Thursday.
“Once a case is over, it’s not an ongoing investigation,” he continued. “There has to be a specific reason not to release a public record. And the fact that there is sexual activity is not an exemption.”
Kraft was charged with two misdemeanor counts of soliciting prostitution in February, subsequently pleading not guilty to both charges. According to his charging document, one of the two occasions which video surveillance caught Kraft engaged in illegal activity at the Jupiter, FL massage parlor occurred on the morning of January 20th, mere hours before he watched the Patriots beat the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime of the AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium.
The affidavit states that Kraft entered the spa just before 11:00 a.m. and was escorted to a private room where he hugged an “Asian female,” completely disrobing and laying face up on a massage table. After a sexual encounter that included the woman fondling Kraft’s genitals and “[putting] her head down by his penis,” he gave her a $100 bill and another unidentified bill.
Kraft left the scene at approximately 11:13 a.m., getting into a 2015 Bentley that was waiting in the parking lot.
