Why The Bills Could Cover The Spread

The Bills are looking to make up ground in the AFC East race after surrendering a tough defeat and first place to the New England Patriots on Monday night. New England's defense held the Bills to just 10 points in that game, so the Bills will look to get their offense back on track in Tampa this weekend. This is a matchup between two really good offenses, so it may be more of a shootout style game. Allen and wideout Stefon Diggs should have a chance to make plays as Tampa has struggled vs. the pass. The Bills will look to improve their run defense. The Patriots notoriously only need three passes to beat the Bills on Monday night, so Buffalo may get a big dose of Leonard Fournette in this one.

Buffalo is 4-2 on the road this season and 6-5-1 against the spread. They could have a shot to cover in Tampa, but this will be a tough road matchup.

Tom Brady and the Buccaneers will be looking to keep winning in an effort to secure the No. 1 seed in the NFC down the road. The NFC South is all but theirs as the rest of the division is floating at or below .500, so they can turn their focus to securing home playoff games. Brady and Leonard Fournette have the Buccaneers offense rolling as one of the best in the NFL. The Tampa defense is elite vs. the run, so we may see a heavy passing game from the Bills in this one. The Buccaneers will have their hands full trying to cover Diggs, Emmanuel Sanders and Cole Beasley with a banged up secondary.

Tampa should have a good shot to cover and win on Sunday as home favorites vs. a Bills team that has been a bit inconsistent of late.

Final Bills-Buccaneers Prediction & Pick

The Bills have struggled of late particularly with run defense. Tampa Bay might be able to get their run game — and in turn play action game — in rhythm in this one. If Brady is able to do that, this will be an uphill battle for Buffalo. The Bills however have shown a tendency to play up or down to their competition at times.

Take Brady and Buccaneers to cover at home.
