The Denver Broncos travel to the East Coast to take on the New York Giants in Week 1. This is an exciting matchup between two quarterbacks who have struggled recently, but still have tons of potential. It’s time to continue our NFL odds series and make a Broncos-Giants prediction and pick.

In Denver, Teddy Bridgewater has arrived to take over the starting quarterback job. With Sam Darnold now in Carolina, Bridgewater lost the job there after a solid 2020. Now he joins a Broncos team looking for its first playoff appearance since Denver won Super Bowl 50 in 2016.

Meanwhile, Daniel Jones enters his third season as the Giants quarterback, in what very well may be his last season in East Rutherford if Jones can't show the potential the Giants drafted him for.

Here’s how the bookmakers have set the lines for Sunday's matchup.

NFL Odds: Broncos-Giants Odds

Why The Broncos Could Win

The Broncos have one of the league's best defenses, led by linebacker Von Miller. Facing Daniel Jones, who was prone to fumbles last season, this Broncos defense is a good candidate to limit points on Sunday, as Jones will feel the pressure from the beginning of the game.

On offense, new Broncos quarterback Teddy Bridgewater joins a group that includes former Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy. While this offense on paper doesn't appear to be anything too special, I believe Bridgewater will have a tremendous year with a fresh start in Denver.

This is the perfect matchup for the Broncos in Week 1, aside from the fact that they're flying cross-country. But Von Miller will record multiple sacks of Daniel Jones, while Bridgewater and Jeudy will connect for a touchdown at some point in this game. As the over/under indicates, this game should be a low-scoring one, but the strength of the Broncos' defensive unit could help lead them to a victory of something like 21-17.

Why The Giants Could Win

After throwing for 22 interceptions and fumbling the ball 29 times over his first two NFL seasons, the Giants need a huge step up from Daniel Jones this season if he wants a long-term future as this team's quarterback. And I think this is the year — and the game — that Jones shows the potential he had when he was drafted out of Duke University. With a receiving corps that added Kenny Golladay in the offseason, Jones will have improved receivers to throw to.

The return of Saquon Barkley is huge as well. He played in just two games last season after tearing his ACL, but with him returning at running back, it will open up the field for Jones. Plus, Barkley himself is one of the league's best running backs and should find success in this game, even against a difficult Broncos front-seven. I like the Giants to win the NFC East this year, and Jones begins a turnaround season in Week 1 with a two-touchdown game in a win against the Broncos.

Final Broncos-Giants Prediction & Pick

Daniel Jones begins a sensational Week 3 with a dominant performance against the Broncos. In a solid defensive effort for both teams, the Giants sneak by, 21-14. Barkley adds a rushing touchdown and reminds us that he hasn't lost a step in returning to the field. Picking the Giants as home underdogs here seems like incredible value.
