The Cardinals travel from The Valley to The Music City for this Week 1 matchup against the Titans. It’s time to continue our NFL odds series and make a Cardinals-Titans prediction and pick.

Both of these teams should be in playoff contention this season. The Cardinals are playing in perhaps the toughest division in football, as all four NFC teams might end up making the playoffs. Meanwhile, in Nashville, the Titans should be battling the Colts throughout the entire season for the right to represent the AFC South in the playoffs as division champions. Two dynamic offenses matching up here should lead to a very high-scoring game in Nashville.

Here’s how the bookmakers have set the lines for Sunday’s matchup.

NFL Odds: Cardinals-Titans Odds

Tennessee Titans -3 (-105)

Why The Cardinals Could Cover

Kyler Murray has the potential to be in the NFL MVP race this season. Although he’s entering just his third season in the NFL, the numbers he’s put up and accolades he’s gathered in his two seasons in Arizona put him on the path for immense success in this league. Aside from his dominant stats, Murray entered Cardinal lore with his “Hail Murray” game-winning touchdown pass last season to defeat the Bills. With DeAndre Hopkins and A.J. Green to throw to, Murray has two of football’s premier receivers lined up on his offense. Look for Murray to pick up where he left off in 2020, throwing for three touchdowns against Tennessee, including one to Hopkins. The MVP conversation will get started early, and a win by Murray and the Cards over a great Tennessee team will also get people to notice that this team could seriously challenge the Rams, Seahawks, and 49ers to win the West.

Why The Titans Could Cover

I may be alone in this sentiment, but I think the Titans have Super Bowl potential. We all know how good Derrick Henry is. He remains one of the most electric running backs in football. Ryan Tannehill threw for a career-high in touchdowns last season and emerged as one of the NFL’s most underrated quarterbacks. Adding Julio Jones is huge. The Titans already have A.J. Brown at wide receiver, but now this group becomes one of the most dynamic offenses in the league. Although Arizona added J.J. Watt in the offseason, their defense may very well be suspect against this Titans team, who can drop 20+ points by halftime. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Tennessee win this game in blowout fashion, backed by a huge game from Tannehill. Looking to get to a 1-0 start in a season that the Titans hope to clinch the playoffs for the third consecutive year, I think the offense picks up where it left off last season and explodes for a huge day against Watt and the Cardinals.

Final Cardinals-Titans Prediction & Pick

My love for the Titans in this game stems mostly from their incredible offense, and it’s not a knock against Arizona. In fact, I think the Cardinals will win 10+ games this season and make the playoffs as well. But Tennessee adding Julio Jones is one of the best moves any team made this offseason and should not be overlooked. That being said, Kyler Murray will have a huge game too, and both teams scoring 30+ points in this game is well within the realm of possibility.

FINAL PICK: Titans -3 (-105)
