The New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks will play in an NFC matchup on Monday night. It's time to continue our NFL odds series and make a Saints-Seahawks prediction and pick.

The Saints and Seahawks may be heading in opposite directions as they head into this Week 7 matchup on Monday Night Football. The Seahawks are still without star quarterback Russell Wilson, and sit in last place in the NFC West at 2-4. The Saints are 3-2, and return a few key players coming off their bye week. Defensive starters Kwon Alexander and Marcus Davenport are on track to return in Week 7, as is starting left tackle Terron Armstead. The Seahawks meanwhile will be without standout running back Chris Carson in addition to the absence of Wilson.

Here's how the bookmakers have set the Saints-Seahawks odds for this Monday matchup.

New Orleans Saints -4.5 (-114), +220 ML

Seatle Seahawks +4.5 (-106), +184 ML

Why The Saints Can Cover The Spread

The Saints opened as a little big bigger favorites, and you can see why. The Seahawks may have their work cut out for them with Geno Smith vs. a strong New Orleans defense. Alvin Kamara should be able to feast on a subpar Seahawks defense, while Jameis Winston is a bit of a wild card in the passing game. The Saints are the better and healthier team in this matchup, and if they take care of the ball, they should not have much of an issue taking control of this game with a win and a cover over a reeling Seahawks group.

Why The Seahawks Can Cover The Spread

The Seahawks don't have a lot of reasons to cover, but one might be their wide receivers. Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf are healthy, and always a tough cover for any opposing defense. If the Seahawks can protect Smith vs. the Saints defensive front (big if), Smith might be able to hang in the pocket and find his talent receivers for big plays down the field. It will be difficult for the Seahawks to sustain drives without their top running back Carson, so it will be important that Seattle hits big plays throughout the game if they are going to put up a decent amount of points.

Final Seahawks-Saints Prediction & Pick

The Saints are an easy choice here. They aren't a lock, but taking them to cover the spread feels safe here. The Seahawks have struggled since in the injuries to Wilson and Carson, and the Saints get a few of their key players back coming off of a bye week. Despite being on the road, New Orleans should be at an advantage on Monday night in Seattle vs. the Seahawks.

FINAL SEAHAWKS-SAINTS PREDICTION & PICK: Saints -4.5 (-106)
