The Chicago Bears front office seems adamant in snatching Russell Wilson away from the Seattle Seahawks after the recent reports on Thursday morning. Wilson has been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and proved that last year, as he threw for 4,212 yards and 40 touchdowns.

With that said, it's no wonder the Bears show so much interest in the nine-year veteran. They haven't had consistent quarterback play for years, and acquiring Wilson would be huge for this franchise. Even the Bears' running back, Tarik Cohen, joined in potentially persuading Wilson out of Seattle.

Furthermore, it doesn't sound like the Seahawks plan to trade away Wilson anytime soon. Even Mike Garafolo of NFL Network didn't sound sold on the idea of a Russell Wilson trade, despite how interested Chicago might be.

Trading away Russell Wilson would put the Seahawks in a tough situation. They would be dishing away one of the best quarterbacks in the league and taking a massive hit in dead caps space as well. ESPN analyst Mina Kimes jumped in and explained Seattle's cap situation by saying:

I know we’re all desensitized to the dead cap hit thing at this point but Seattle—a team that, unlike Philly and Detroit, isn’t rebuilding—eating $39 MILLION in a Wilson trade would be absolutely (bananas).”

Additionally, it's not like Seattle has time for a rebuild either. Pete Carroll is in his early 70s, which means he doesn't have time for a rebuild. It's in the Seahawks' best interest to mend the relationship with their star quarterback and get themselves back in the playoff race next year.

Either way, NFL franchises are going to tug and pull at the Seattle front office in their attempts to acquire Wilson, and it sounds like the Bears are going to be all over it during the offseason.
