With Pro Bowl tight end Austin Hooper signing a record-breaking four-year, $44 million deal with the Cleveland Browns, the Atlanta Falcons quickly needed to find a replacement for their young playmaker.

The team didn't waste much time as per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Falcons have agreed on a trade with the Baltimore Ravens that would send second-year pro Hayden Hurst to Atlanta. Baltimore is also sending a 2020 fourth-round pick to the Falcons in exchange for 2020 second and fifth-round picks.

Hurst, a 2018 first-round pick out of South Carolina, spent the majority of the 2019 season as the backup tight end behind Pro Bowler Mark Andrews.

In 16 games and four starts, Hurst recorded 30 catches on 39 targets for 349 yards and two touchdowns.

Despite just finishing his second NFL season, Hurst will be 27 years old by the time next season starts. But, at 6-foot-4 and 245 pounds, the former Gamecock should provide Falcons QB Matt Ryan with a suitable (and cheaper) replacement for Hooper.

Speaking of Hooper, the former third-round pick is one of the brightest young stars at his position. last season, Hooper recorded 75 catches for a career-high 787 yards and six touchdowns.

Hurst will join fellow Atlanta tight ends Jaeden Graham and Carson Meier as he competes for a starting job in 2020.
