New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas is probably not going anywhere ahead of the Nov. 3 trade deadline.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported people in Thomas' camp are angling for a trade. However, Florio also reported it is unlikely the Saints will receive a suitable offer for the All-Pro wideout:

Whether the Saints are or aren’t interested in hearing what someone may be willing to offer before next Tuesday, November 3, this much is true: The Thomas camp has tried to get another team to make the Saints an offer for the man who set the single-season receiving record in 2019.

No offer has been made to the Saints, and at this point the belief is that no offer will be made.

It’s unclear what it would take to get Thomas. Although the move would result in the Saints absorbing a $20 million cap charge, there’s surely a package of players and picks that would get them to consider it.

Thomas has been one of the best receivers in football. He has been named First Team All-Pro in each of the last two seasons and, as Florio noted, set the single-season receptions record in 2019.

But 2020 has already been rather tumultuous for Thomas. The 27-year-old has played in just one game this year due to a hamstring issues. Thomas was also essentially suspended after getting into an altercation with Saints defensive back Chauncey Gardner-Johnson during practice earlier this month.

Perhaps the Saints see Thomas as more of a distraction than anything else at this point, though head coach Sean Payton seemed to indicate that was not the case.

Regardless, it does not seem likely the Saints will trade Thomas ahead of the deadline.

Instead, they will hope the disgruntled can get back on the field and contribute for a Saints team hoping to win a Super Bowl.
