The coronavirus pandemic has effectively halted the American way of life as many of the springtime sports have called off their seasons. However, the NFL is looking to resume their planned activities in spite of the uncertainty brought by the global health emergency.

While a good number of football fans are happy with the development, not everyone is thrilled with the league’s plans. One of the most staunch critics about the league’s persistence with continuing on as normal is NFL writer Adam Schefter.

The ESPN Senior Writer for NFL hit the league for their insistence to keep the league running in spite of the “carnage” going on in the streets. As revealed in Matt Rogers’ video, Schefter believes that the league should double-check their persistence to keep the league running.

“OTAs, that’s not happening. The offseason program? That’s not happening. The draft is happening only through the sheer will, force and determination and lack of foresight,” Schefter said. “They are determined to put this on while there is carnage in the streets.”

The NFL revealed that they are pushing through with the draft in spite of their orders to close down all team facilities to prevent the spread of the disease. Free agency has been going well over the past two weeks in spite of the lack of person-to-person interactions due to social distancing.

There’s also reason to believe that they will be pushing through with a fully digital NFL Draft.
