Here’s wishing that Logan Paul starts calling out the big boys in the NHL , especially after Colorado Avalanche defenseman Kurtis MacDermid and Anaheim Ducks defenseman Nic Deslauriers put on arguably the best fight of the season Wednesday night.

The tussle started during a scoreless tie in the first period, with MacDermid seemingly connecting more punches and landing the harder ones early. But Deslauriers also had his moments, particularly when he tagged MacDermid with two straight huge rights. The heavyweight battle went on for over a minute, to the delight of the crowd, with each player showing no signs of backing down. The linesmen had to step in to break the fight before everybody forgot that there was an NHL game to be played.

Those familiar with MacDermid and Deslauriers must have seen these two locking horns way before the game even started. According to hockeyfights.com, this is the fifth time that these two mastodons dropped the gloves against each other. MacDermid also got the majority of the votes on hockeyfight.com’s poll for this showdown, though, there’s still a case to be made that the fight should be a “draw.”

What’s certain is that the MacDermid’s Avalanche won this NHL game to the tune of a 2-0 score, thanks to the goals of Nazem Kadri and Samuel Girard, and of course, the goaltending of Pavel Francouz, who made 34 saves for this second career shutout.
