The Los Angeles Kings will stay in Arizona as they look to take on the Coyotes yet again for the second straight game. These teams faced off on Saturday where the Kings came out on top 5-3. Since then, the Kings have been able to rest and await this game while the Coyotes hosted the Dallas Stars the following night, Sunday, winning 3-1. Why The Kings Can Cover The Spread/Win

The Los Angeles Kings continue to push in the right direction this season where they show off a strong team defense matched up with good goaltending as they improve to 26-17-7 on the season. The Kings are 6-2-2 in their last 10 games and are currently in a playoff spot, but just barely in fourth place within the Pacific Division with 59 points. They are very middle of the pack when it comes to their offensive production, being ranked 18th in the league. However, the Kings enter this matchup at full health as we should see star goaltender Jonathan Quick between the pipes tonight. The 36-year-old is 13-10-6 on the season with a .911 save percentage and allowing 2.61 goals per game.

As long as he can get some help from the offense in front of him, the Kings have a good chance at stealing another two points away and moving up the standings.

Why The Coyotes Can Cover The Spread/Win

The Arizona Coyotes are 3-4-0 in February so far, which may not seem like much, but it has featured tough opponents in the Avalanche, Flames, Lighting, and Stars. With that said, this young Coyotes team has started skating with a little more of a scrappy style of play lately. They like to throw the body around and just cause havoc against teams who aren't used to seeing it from an Arizona team. With that said, Katel Vejmelka will likely patrol the home crease tonight as he is 7-21-1 on the year with a .900 save percentage and allowing 3.51 goals per game. He hasn't exactly been a Vezina Trophy contender, but as long as the Coyotes can maintain a steady game from the offensive front, Vejmelka can keep them in this game and steal a win away from a playoff-contending team in the Kings tonight.

Final Kings-Coyotes Prediction & Pick

Los Angeles is no doubt the more talented club and has been playing strong lately, but anything can happen in the NHL when a team gets hot. However, both teams favor the under on the season as the Kings have covered the under 28-21-1 on the season while the Coyotes are actually pretty even at 25-24-1. Yes, the Coyotes have seen a recent surge in their play for the month of February, but the Kings are a real playoff contender with much better goaltending. I think the odds for this game are way too high to take straight up, so look for the Kings on a 3-Way Moneyline (meaning to win in regulation with no overtime) tonight while it's listed at -135 instead of the listed price at -210. Don't be scared to sprinkle half a unit on the under as well, from a statistical standpoint.
