Why The Kings Can Cover The Spread/Win

The Los Angeles Kings are having an up and down kind of season, but with much more up as of recently. Their offense hasn't been great so far, only scoring 2.83 goals per game, but their defense has been great, allowing only 2.76 goals per game. As long as they're scoring more goals than they're letting in, the Kings will continue to win games and stay near the top of the division. Starting in net today for the Kings could most likely be Cal Petersen, who is overall having a great season with a .904 save percentage and allowing 2.60 goals against per game. He'll look to shut the door on Vegas tonight as the Kings could always use more wins down the stretch.

Why The Golden Knights Can Cover The Spread/Win

The Vegas Golden Knights have been dealing with injuries all year long, and are now currently just one point ahead of the Dallas Stars for that last seed in the Western Conference Playoffs. Despite the injuries, the Knights have put together a strong season on offense, as they are scoring 3.11 goals per game. Their defense however has been letting the Knights down recently, especially in close games, allowing 3.05 goals per game. Not only that, but goaltender Laurent Brossoit has been struggling in the net lately as he looks to get another start tonight. He's currently sporting a save percentage of .895 percent and allowing 2.90 goals against per game. Brossoit will have to be on his A-game tonight if he wants to help the Knights get a win over the Kings tonight.

Final Kings-Golden Knights Prediction & Pick

The odds for this game aren't very pleasing, that's for sure. The game could go either way, and I don't love the over/under set at six goals on the dot. I like the momentum that the Kings have right now, coming off of a win against the Sharks on Thursday, but they're 15-22 this season when listed as underdogs while the Knights are 24-17 this season when listed as favorites. Again, I think this game can truly go either way, but I'm going to go with the Vegas Golden Knights Moneyline, purely based on their record as favorites compared to the Kings.
