Scott Boras has already made a killing during the 2019-20 MLB offseason.

Three of Boras' top clients–Gerrit Cole, Stephen Strasburg and Anthony Rendon–signed for over $800 million combined during the 2019 Winter Meetings.

The rambunctious agent spoke on the market of three of his other clients after Cole was introduced by the New York Yankees on Wednesday. Boras said that talks for outfielder Nicholas Castellanos have not been able to gain a ton of steam because most teams are focused on adding starting pitching (via Mark Feinsand of MLB.com):

Castellanos’ market is far less certain.

The corner-outfield market has been mostly dormant this offseason, though Avisaíl García’s two-year, $20 million pact with the Brewers may be the move that could kick-start some action.

“It’s funny how the pockets of the game work; pitching, catching, center field all moved quickly here,” Boras said. “But when you look at the [corner] outfield aspect of it, it has been a market where everyone is kind of taking care of their pitching staff because many other teams have gone after that product, so they’re forced to do it even if they wanted to address the outfield. That whole market has yet to hit.”

Castellanos has been attached to a number of teams including the Giants, Cubs and D-backs this winter, though none have gained enough traction to think a signing is close.

Castellanos seemingly enhanced his market with a ferocious finish to the 2019.

The 27-year-old slashed .321/.356/.646 with 16 homers and 21 doubles over the course of his final 51 games after being traded from the Detroit Tigers to the Chicago Cubs.

Chicago would love to bring him back, but money is reportedly still an issue.
