Enes Kanter‘s concerning situation about his ongoing troubles with his home country's government has been one of the most talked about news around the basketball community lately. After he was detained in Romania because his passport was cancelled, news recently broke out that he is now wanted in Turkey for apparently being part of an armed terrorist organization.

His teammate and Oklahoma City Thunder veteran big man, Nick Collison, was asked to give his thoughts on Kanter's situation. He said he is not in the best position to talk about it, for the lack of details he knows, but made it clear that the 25-year-old Turkish international is a good person, and that as far as he knows, is not a terrorist.

Collison is considered one of the Thunder's veteran locker room leader and well-respected in the NBA. He may not be getting a lot of playing time during the past few seasons, but he proves his worth to the team even outside the court as a mentor to their younger players. His comments also show how he respects his teammates, especially on their political views.

Kanter has long been vocal about his dismay on the Turkish government and their president, Recep Tayyip Edrogan. Although the position he's currently in is undesirable, and could even result in serious repercussions for him, Collison and the Oklahoma City faithful are hopeful it can be resolved this offseason in order for him to remain focused on playing basketball and helping the Thunder reach more success.
