Nick Diaz is set to meet Robbie Lawler in a five-round bout at UFC 266. The fight is a rematch from their original bout back in 2004.

Diaz would win the contest by knockout in the second round in what was only his 11th professional fight. Since then Diaz won the Strikeforce welterweight belt and fought for both the UFC welterweight champion and interim championship.

Nick Diaz last competed in January 2015 and has flirted with a return for many years now. The fight comes almost seven years after his last contest.

A promo of Nick Diaz was recently released showing off Diaz working out and a few clips of his original fight with Lawler. It was his words in the video, that got people excited for his return.

“I’m actually way more of a dangerous fighter than I was when I fought Robbie Lawler the first time,” Diaz said ahead of the rematch. “I’m going to be really unstoppable having made the right decisions. I’m going to beat Robbie again.”

Diaz had many people shocked when he beat Lawler the first time. The former UFC welterweight champion had only lost once due to injury and was considered a tough knockout artist.

Diaz hit him with a straight punch and Lawler awkwardly fell, the referee stepped in and Diaz had himself a signature win. Many had been hoping for a rematch considering how much their careers changed over time with both men winning a respective championship.

Nick Diaz is set to take on Robbie Lawler on the third fight of the pay-per-view on September 25, in a five-round non-title bout.
