Earlier this offseason, veteran guard Nick Young elected to opt out of the final year of his deal worth $5.6 million with the Los Angeles Lakers.

He has since signed a one-year, $5.2 million deal with the Golden State Warriors. However, the 32-year-old was recently asked about the possibility to rejoin the Lakers following the 2017-18 season.

Clearly, Young was exercising his sarcasm as both Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are beyond their playing days. Jordan is now 54 years old and has not entertained the idea of attempting a comeback while Bryant has continually voiced that he no longer has the desire to play.

That said, there is persistent talk that LeBron James could make the jump to Los Angeles next offseason if he elects to become an unrestricted free agent. On top of that, All-star forward Paul George has also long been rumored to prefer signing with the Lakers when he hits the open market in the summer of 2018.

Although this could be an intriguing option for Young if were to come to fruition, he is set to enter his first year with the defending NBA champions, who steamrolled through the playoffs with a 16-1 record. If he values winning above anything else, the Warriors appear to be the clear-cut choice well beyond next season.
