Earlier this week, Nick Young made the decision to sign a one-year, $5.2 million contract with the Golden State Warriors in free agency.

It was a decision-making process for Young that had plenty of influence from several Warriors players such as Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, and Stephen Curry. However, it was Green who made the most impact on the 32-year-old because the latter saw how he was treated when they went out to the club together, according to Anthony Slater of the Mercury News.

“It was the Fourth of July and he told me to come hang out. It was a different feeling because I am Swaggy P and people like me. Nobody really paid attention to me that day when I was hanging out with Draymond. I was ‘dang this is what it feels like.'

“He was getting free championship cakes. I think he set up. We were eating dinner and somehow he was getting championship cake and getting congratulations. I am just sitting there like ‘man that seems cool. This is what you get when you are a Warrior.'

“He kept texting me over the next couple of days asking ‘whatcha going to go do. Come on man we need you.' I think that sealed the deal.”

Green clearly did more than his part to help recruit Young over to the Warriors. He went over the top to impress him and accomplished just that to make a huge impression that led to an eventual signing with the team.

Young brings to the table another offensive contributor off the bench that is a proven scorer. He is coming off one of his most efficient offensive seasons where he averaged 13.2 points on 43.0 percent shooting from the field and 40.4 percent from 3-point range.

With the Warriors bringing back essentially every piece from last year's team, Young's addition only further boosts their chances of repeating next season.
