First, before everyone collectively loses their poop, it does appear he was joking as he later added clarifications to his initial pro-coke stance. We will get to that in a minute, but let's add the initial context right off the bat.

Obviously, if you have been around the Internet for a bit and have followed Young's career at all, you didn't actually believe he was opining for a world where every single person can try cocaine.
Nevertheless, it isn't yet the day of the 2018 NBA Draft and outside of a few random pieces of news, it was a slower day in the realm of professional shooty hoops. Something had to fill that void, and it might has well been the glorious joking of Young.
The good news in all of this is that Young quickly clarified his statements, not allowing random people to go bonkers and write think-pieces about him and/or cocaine.
Outside of all of that, Young had himself a pretty good season with the Warriors, playing a relatively big role in Golden State's rise to yet another NBA crown. What happens to him this offseason as far as role with the team is concerned, or another, is far more interesting than this.
