Anno Domini. A reference to the year of the Lord put to work in the world of fashion. Nike has just unveiled the new Kobe AD, the first Kobe Bryant signature pairs released after his retirement.

After much deliberation, the shoes were announced on Twitter, first by Nike's PR director (showing the shoes themselves).

Followed by the “grand unveiling” via Nike's official twitter account (showing the Black Mamba and the new Kobe AD's).

The lighting once again compares Bryant to a Holy Figure, and the image focuses mainly on the player as opposed to the product, per Nike's standard advertising style.

According to Nike, the new shoes will:

“[Combine] a Zoom Air unit in the heel, Lunarlon foam in the midsole and a minimal rubber outsole (with micro-tread traction), the shoe provides responsive, flexible cushioning and maximum court feel.”

The shoes are still following the new grey color scheme that Nike has adopted for major shoe lines such as the line for LeBron James, amongst others.

While the shoes are missing the zoom technology in the forefoot of the shoe, the shoe still looks like it will live up to expectations and, as usual, be one of the best buys on the market. The shoes will be a real collector's item as well as they commemorate the first year since 1996 without the Black Mamba playing for an NBA team.

The shoes will be available for purchase in under a month and is set to go on the market by November 22nd, with a price of $160.
