Kyle Shanahan is not only turning into a great head coach, but he is also apparently a big-time sneaker head.

The San Francisco 49ers coach recently explained to Marcus Thompson of The Athletic why he likes wearing Yeezys, saying that he prefers their comfort rather than the style of other brands:

“I’ve always liked Jordans,” Kyle Shanahan said. “Just a little too big-looking for me. I like the lower-cut ones and the more athletic ones. I’m not hooping much these days, so I just want more some walking shoes.”

His players love his fashion sense:

“I can’t wait to get home and tell my wife that the head coach is wearing Yeezys,” wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders said after his first teem meeting with the club after being acquired from the Denver Broncos back in October. “That’s cool. This one cool coach.”

While the sneakers certainly don't help Shanahan call plays on the field, they do help him connect with his younger players, which is definitely important for an NFL head coach.

And hey; it seems to be working.

The 49ers have been one of the league's most pleasant surprises this season, as they currently own a 10-2 record and are very much alive in the chase for a first-round bye in the NFC.

Yes, San Francisco lost its hold on the top spot in the NFC West recently, as the Seattle Seahawks are also 10-2 and hold the tiebreaker, but there is certainly time left for the Niners to leapfrog the Seahawks.

And Shanahan can do that in his Yeezys.
