The fan-favorite game designer Suda51, who founded Grasshopper Manufacturer and created the No More Heroes series claims that he wants to make a Deadpool game for Marvel.
No More Heroes Creator is Down to Make a Deadpool Game
Suda51, a.k.a. Goichi Suda, has been busy this past week with the release of the highly-anticipated No More Heroes III for the Nintendo Switch. It seems like Suda and Grasshopper Manufacture aren’t slowing down though, with three original intellectual properties in development for games over the next decade. Meanwhile, Marvel continues to expand its big-budget games presence with the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy game and the XCOM-style RPG Midnight Suns game.
Although he’s busy as a bee, Suda51 says he wouldn’t object to a Marvel and Grasshopper collab. If anything, he’d be more than happy to make a Deadpool game or a game about some more obscure Marvel Comics characters.
“The broad answer is we already have a lot of products that are in development,” Suda said during a live stream event with IGN Japan, “and over the next 10 years we have three original IPs that we’re working on and we have already planned out. “So you can definitely look forward to a lot of new, interesting original IPs from Grasshopper. We also, of course, have other plans and are working hard on them to bring them to fruition.
“But [in terms of] the kind of things I’d love to do, I’d also love to work with Marvel on a Shatterstar or Deadpool game, something sort of Grasshopper-y like that. Maybe a Quicksilver title of some sorts. So, Marvel, you know.”
If this does happen, both fans of Marvel and the No More Heroes series would be ecstatic. Let’s just hope it would be better than 2013’s Deadpool by High Moon Studios.
