The Alabama Crimson Tide took care of business against the Ohio State Buckeyes Monday night in the National Championship game. The Crimson Tide dismantled the Buckeyes 52-24.

The college football world all season had a general feeling that Alabama would be the eventual champions, but several experts thought it would be close.

On the daily Locked On College Football podcast, Zac Blackerby and Isaiah Hole recapped the championship game. Moreover, they asked the question about where this year's Alabama team ranks against LSU's from last year. While it will be impossible to tell, the masses will disagree on this debate for a long time.

Hole: It is funny because I was watching that argument play out on Twitter with different analysts like Bill Connelly and some others. Connolly seemed to want to put this Alabama team slightly above LSU. I say it goes the other way around because I think LSU had a better overall defense. Obviously, Alabama’s defense was no slouch against Ohio State. They actually played a lot better defensively than I thought that they would have.

I probably saw about half of Alabama’s games this year: I thought that they played well defensively but that was not the case every single week. Sometimes they were put on ice skates. I think the LSU team conversely, did not have that issue last year. I felt like LSU’s defense was a bit more stringent and that is why you saw so many of those guys end up in the NFL. Obviously, there were offensive pieces but there were defensive pieces as well. I think it is really difficult to parse between who is the best quarterback between Jo Burrow or Mac Jones. They pretty much had the same exact season.
