The North Carolina State Wolfpack are already off to a solid start to the Kevin Keatts era. While the new coach has already done damage for the 2017 recruiting class, he just added a big time get to the 2018 talent pool, as the Wolfpack landed one of the nation's best shot-blockers, Immanuel Bates.

The news was made public by way of Jonathan M. Alexander of the News Observer, who reported to the nation as the talent announced his decision to attend NC State at his high school, Northwood Temple Academy, on Friday.

According to Scout, Bates is a 4-star prospect in the 2018 recruiting class.

Again, a pretty big get for Keatts and North Carolina State. While Immanuel Bates is raw, he has the sort of potential that would make any coach in the country drool.

Keatts was an assistant coach with the Louisville Cardinals from 2011-14. He took the UNC-Wilmington job after that.

During his first season as a head coach, he was named CAA Coach of the Year after leading the Seahawks to their first conference championship in nine seasons. It was also the program’s first winning season in seven years.

Keatts backed up his first season with a second also resulting in him becoming the CAA Coach of the Year. He would also take UNC-Wilmington to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2005-06 college basketball season.

This last season was more of the same for the Keatts. He once again took his team dancing after winning 29 games during the season.
