In three years so far in his NBA career, Denver Nuggets shooting guard Gary Harris has, at least, once experienced perhaps the most anxiety-inducing experience for a player: being part of incessant trade rumors.

That was earlier this summer, when the former Michigan State Spartan was learned to be among the pieces of an aborted blockbuster deal that involved the Nuggets, Indiana Pacers, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Knowing that it was beyond his control, Harris didn't seem to be affected at all by it, however.

Gary Harris discussed more about the situation in an interview with Harrison Wind of BSNDenver.com:

“It’s mixed emotions. At the end of the day it’s out of my control,” Harris said of the rumors. “I really don’t stress about it too much because it’s either, I’m gonna stay or I’m gonna leave. So it’s pretty simple. I’m glad I’m still here and I’m looking forward to (next season).”

Harris appears to be glad that he remains a Nugget, though, as he's optimistic of the team's immediate and long-term future, especially with the offseason acquisition of Paul Millsap and the rapid improvement of Nikola Jokic.

“It’s real for me, for sure,” Darrell Arthur said about next season’s expectations. “I’ve been talking to coach all summer, it’s real for him. I feel like if there’s a year to make some noise and get some stuff done it’s going to be this year.”

Last season, Harris was among the bright spots on a Denver team that barely missed the playoffs, finishing fourth on the team in scoring with 14.9 points per game to go with a 42.0 percent clip from deep. For now, Harris has a full season ahead of him to help the Nuggets make the big leap many are projecting the team to make. The 6-foot-4 guard is set to become a restricted free agent in 2018.
