Denver Nuggets rookie Bol Bol appears to be a pretty opinionated individual when it comes to how teams will be shaping up next season. This was a summer to remember, with all the landscape-shifting moves that went down this offseason, and it seems the 19-year-old is well aware of how things stand in the league at the moment.

Bol was recently with The Athletic's Kendra Andrews, as the writer tried to get a deeper sense of the 7-foot-2 big man not only as a player, but as a human being as well. When Bol was presented with the NBA's Christmas Day schedule, the former Oregon standout did not hold back with his reaction, and was actually refreshingly honest with his candid comments:

“The Pelicans aren’t even going to be that good,” Bol said. He wasn’t surprised the Nuggets are scheduled to play, but was expecting them to play a conference competitor such as the Portland Trailblazers or Utah Jazz. Bol skimmed through the rest of the Christmas Day matchups and was not impressed. “The Celtics are playing too? Why?” he said.

Much like opening night, Christmas Day games are usually reserved for the most highly anticipated matchups of the season, which is exactly why Bol was a bit surprised as to why the league had decided to include the Pelicans in the lineup.

Unlike most of the basketball world, Bol does not appear to be fully buying into the Zion Williamson hype. The Nuggets rookie does not seem to think that last June's first overall pick will be able to carry his team to NBA significance in 2019-20. We will just need to wait and see.
