Monday was a special day for Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic, who won his second consecutive NBA MVP award after edging out Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid. Of course, Twitter had their fair share of opinions on Jokic winning it over Embiid, but Bones Hyland fully came to the defense of his teammate.

Hyland clearly believes the right man won it. Not only is Jokic a beast, but he's a great teammate and leader.

The Nuggets center was truly magnificent in 2021-22. Without Michael Porter Jr and Jamal Murray, he carried Denver to the first round of the playoffs, eventually falling in five games to the Golden State Warriors. The Joker averaged 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 7.9 assists in 74 games while shooting an impressive 58% from the field. His points, boards, steals, and blocks were all career-highs as well.

While Embiid won the scoring title with over 30 points per night while Giannis Antetokounmpo also put up godly numbers, Jokic's ability to literally put the Nuggets on his back proved to be huge in winning Most Valuable Player. He's only the 15th player ever to win the award multiple times.

Valuable is an understatement. Nikola Jokic is on another level. Denver was never considered a championship contender but once Porter and Murray come back, this team will be a force to be reckoned with, especially when The Joker is playing like this.
