After a stint with the Milwaukee Bucks, DeMarcus Cousins was reportedly heading to the Denver Nuggets. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Cousins will sign a 10-day contract and join the Nuggets in a packed part of their schedule.

Cousins' stop in Denver was first reported weeks ago but now seems to be happening. According to Mike Singer of the Denver Post, the Nuggets wanted to sign Cousins in a window where they could max out his available games. With six games coming up, including a road trip that features games against the Bucks and Brooklyn Nets, they will have plenty of time to use their new addition.

Cousins played in 17 games for the Bucks this season, including five starts. The 31-year-old big man averaged 9.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. He will team up with head coach Michael Malone, who coached him briefly when he was the franchise star of the Sacramento Kings, once again.

Reserve center Bol Bol being dealt away to the Boston Celtics left the Nuggets with 21-year-old Zeke Nnaji as their only reliable backup center. The addition of Cousins adds a second, veteran option behind Nikola Jokic. Cousins and Nnaji can split time backup up the MVP candidate or play some minutes together. Cousins' passing and shooing offer some lineup versatility, though he would be best paired with a defensive-minded frontcourt partner.

Cousins may not be the player he once was but he brings some needed frontcourt depth to the Nuggets at a crucial time.
