The Denver Nuggets are hoping that point guard Isaiah Thomas will make his season debut before the 2019 NBA All-Star game, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Isaiah Thomas underwent arthroscopic hip surgery in March of 2018. If Thomas can't play before the All-Star break, he should be able to play right after it, per ESPN.

There is optimism that former All-Star guard Isaiah Thomas will make his debut with the Denver Nuggets prior to the mid-February All-Star break, league sources told ESPN on Friday.

Thomas has been gathering momentum in his rehabilitation process from hip surgery in March, and there's hope among Thomas and the Nuggets organization he could return as soon as a Feb. 11-13 homestand against Miami and Sacramento, sources said.

There's strong confidence that he will return no later than the first game after the All Star break on Feb. 22 in Dallas, league sources said.

Thomas signed a one-year deal with the Nuggets last summer for the vet minimum. The lefty is being reunited with Michael Malone in Denver. Malone coached Thomas when the two were with the Sacramento Kings.

Thomas split time last season with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers. The two-time All-Star finished the year averaging 15.2 points and 4.8 assists per game while shooting 37.3 percent from the field and 29.3 percent from beyond the arc.

The Nuggets are 30-14 on the season. They have the second-best record in the Western Conference. Once Thomas returns and catches his rhythm, Denver is going to be even more lethal on offense.
