The Denver Nuggets will decline a team-option on center Nikola Jokic, which will make him a restricted free agent next season, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.

Both sides are planning to reach agreement on a five-year, $146.5 million maximum contract, which will keep him in Denver for the long haul.

The deal, would of course, be unmatchable by any other team, given that the Nuggets have Jokic's bird rights and are the only team able to offer him a five-year contract.

Jokic has become the pillar of this roster, a favorite of the locker room, as well as head coach Mike Malone, who has often lauded his superstar talent, paired with a blue-collar, working-man demeanor.

The 6-foot-10, 250-pound big man averaged 18.5 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 6.1 assists last season while shooting 50 percent from the floor and 40 percent from deep, while connecting on a sparkling 85 percent clip from the foul line in 2017-18.
