Much has been made about the overall fitness level of Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic. The 6-foot-11 big man does not exactly possess the most chiseled of NBA physiques, so naturally, some folks could not help but wonder how Jokic has been keeping in shape amidst the challenges presented by the coronavirus lockdown.

As it turns out, however, Jokic is currently in tremendous shape — at least in the mind of Nuggets head coach Mike Malone himself, who made this claim in a recent appearance on Altitude Sports Radio's “Hastings, Harris & Dover.”

“I know our guys have been working,” Malone said, via Andrew Joe Potter of theScore. “Seeing Nikola (Jokic), seeing Jamal (Murray) – these guys have been so committed, so focused, so disciplined in terms of keeping their bodies in shape.”

Malone went on to describe Jokic's fitness journey and claims that despite being in quarantine, his star big man has put in an admirable effort to keep his body in top condition.

“I mean, Nikola, before the season was suspended on March 12, had lost close to – I don't know – 25, 30 pounds maybe,” Malone added. “He was just in phenomenal shape. And he's maintained that, if not improved it.

“So if there are reports out there of a 6-foot-11 lean, mean fighting machine Serbian walking around, I believe it because I've seen it.”

This picture shows just how slim Jokic is now:

I guess that quells all doubt pertaining to Jokic being out of shape. The season is nearing its much-awaited return, so we should all be able to get a first-hand look at Jokic's quarantine transformation soon.
