LaMelo Ball has been making the headlines recently for reasons other than basketball. The Charlotte Hornets rookie made a controversial statement dissing the need to go to school that he later had to clarify. He probably ticked off a few educators with his take, and now he might have some angry Denver Nuggets fans hitting up his DM's.

In another recent interview with GQ, LaMelo Ball was asked to go undercover and answer some burning questions from fans online. At around the 2:30 mark, he was asked to rank six players in terms of passing ability: LaMelo Ball, LeBron James, Ben Simmons, Trae Young, Chris Paul, and Nuggets star Nikola Jokic.

At first watch, it's honestly subtle. But listen to the Hornets star butcher Nikola Jokic's name like he's never watched a Nuggets game before. While that can be overlooked, as some people truly struggle with pronunciation, Ball later admits that he actually didn't recognize the name at all:

“Oh, that's the Joker?” Ball says surprised about the Nuggets center.

Another tell is that they had to cut out an in-between part of the video. The clip of him reading the question and him figuring out that it was the Nuggets franchise player was spliced together with an evident gap in the middle. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I'd bet good money that was when he had to clarify who that was.

Someone better show Nikola Jokic this video. The Nuggets star is no stranger to poking fun right back and might have to teach LaMelo Ball a lesson.
