In the final game of the regular season, Denver Nuggets guard Facundo Campazzo shoved Los Angeles Lakers guard Wayne Ellington following a missed transition layup. Ellington responded to the play and blasted Campazzo, who was ejected from the game for the act, for almost injuring him. Now, Campazzo will be missing out on the first game of the NBA playoffs.

The NBA that Campazzo will miss the first game of Denver's first-round series against the Golden State Warriors due to his dirty play against Ellington.

Facundo Campazzo averaged just 18.1 minutes per game over 65 games this season. He posted 5.1 points and 3.4 assists per game. Although his numbers barely filled the box score, he was a key depth piece on the sixth-seeded Nuggets roster this season for his pesky defense. In the case of Ellington, he went way too far. Nuggets coach Michael Malone said that Campazzo apologized to him but it remains to be seen if he did the same to Ellington.

Denver already had issues with depth at the guard spot with Jamal Murray being sidelined. Although he is nearing the end of his recovery process following last year's ACL tear, the Nuggets roster is currently thin at point guard. Nikola Jokic has been amazing this season but will have a tough time against a very good Warriors defense. The NBA playoffs are always a different beast and Jokic will need more help from his teammates to advance.
