Since the start of the season, Gary Harris has been playing at a high level and producing above average numbers for the Denver Nuggets. However, he has not taken a lot of shots, which has even limited his production. The team has noticed it, and are planning to change things soon.

Given the efficiency the 23-year-old Michigan State product is showing, Mike Malone and his coaching staff are looking to run more plays for him in order to increase his scoring and further boost his confidence, according to Chris Dempsey of Altitude Sports.

After signing a four year, $84 million deal earlier this month, Harris has proven that he deserves that big of a contract. In four games so far this season, he is averaging 12.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.0 steals in 32.5 minutes per game. He is the Nuggets’ undisputed starter at the shooting guard spot and has earned the respect of his teammates and coaches.

With the Nuggets currently 1-3, it’s very understandable that they want to shake things up in order get the results they desire. If Harris will continue the strong start he’s had this year — even with the increased attempts he’ll get — it could be the key to turning their fortunes around and it won’t be surprising if the team will string a few wins together in their next games.
