LeBron James and Isaiah Thomas did not spend a long time together with the Cleveland Cavaliers last season, the only time in their NBA careers in which they were on the same team, but the bond between the two was very much evident in the way the now-Denver Nuggets point guard congratulated the Los Angeles Lakers forward for the successful opening of the latter’s I Promise School in Akron on Monday.

Thomas wrote on his Twitter account:

Congrats to my bro @KingJames on doing thing athletes really have never done before! You inspire the whole world killa. Keep it going as I know you will. Generation after generation going to feel this one! #RealOne

The I Promise School is a grand project of James in association with the Akron Public Schools. The institution is not only geared toward helping kids from underprivileged families get their education but is also there to aid the parents of the same kids by giving them jobs.

James knows where these children are coming from, as he also grew up in a similar situation before becoming one of the best stories of rags to riches in contemporary America.

Apart from Isaiah Thomas, James has also gotten praises from the likes of Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, two-time league MVP Stephen Curry, and former teammate Dwyane Wade.
