Isaiah Thomas enters his first season with the Denver Nuggets after a disappointing year split between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Los Angeles Lakers. He was an MVP candidate with the Boston Celtics in 2016, but he was forced to sign a contract for the minimum this offseason.
Thomas sat down — or better yet — appeared on Old Spice's “Cold As Balls” with Kevin Hart. After Hart initially confused Thomas with the Hall of Famer, Isiah Thomas of the Detroit Pistons, they started dishing on the younger Thomas' career:
One of the more notable parts of the interview came when Thomas gave his rankings for the top point guards in the league. Thomas listed his top five as follows:
- Isaiah Thomas
- Stephen Curry
- Kyrie Irving
- Russell Westbrook
- John Wall
- Damian Lillard

This is an interesting list for sure. Irving was initially left off the list, but Thomas corrected his mistake after Hart pointed it out. Chris Paul was another notable omission on the list. He's definitely in the conversation for the best point guards in the league, even as he enters this season at 33 years old. Thomas noted that there was no order for the best after him as the No. 1 point guard.
Thomas confidently put himself at the top of the list. There's no chance he's the top point guard in the league, but he has to have himself at the top of the list. If he's going to be successful, he has to be that confident. Perhaps he'll live up to his high standards and turn around his career in Denver.
