Denver Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray is out for the remainder of the 2020-21 season after he sustained a torn ACL in his left knee against the Golden State Warriors on Monday night, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium. The Nuggets soon confirmed the injury and called Murray “out indefinitely.”

As the Nuggets were trailing 111-104 against the Warriors with 50.6 seconds left in the game, the Kentucky product was trying to go for a layup between two defenders when he suffered a bad landing. He immediately crumpled to the ground in pain.

After the incident, Murray declined to be put in a wheelchair as he asked for assistance from the team's staff members and hopped off the floor without putting much weight on his left leg. He concluded the contest with a total of 17 points, four rebounds, and four assists through 33 minutes of action.

With Stephen Curry's 53-point outburst, the Warriors ultimately finished the game with a 116-107 victory over the Nuggets. Due to the loss, the Denver-based squad dropped back to a 34-20 slate for the fourth spot in the Western Conference. The Nuggets are now on a two-game losing streak after winning eight in a row.

Jamal Murray had just missed time with a knee injury before returning to the court on Monday. The Nuggets star finishes his season with averages of 21.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.8 assists through 48 games.

This is a brutal blow for Denver's championship hopes. The Nuggets had been playing so well, especially after trading for Aaron Gordon, and now they're going to have to rally around Nikola Jokic and step up with Murray out.
