Jamal Murray had some special moments in the playoffs for the Denver Nuggets, and he's attempting to carve out his own legacy like Michael Jordan once did. As he prepares himself for the upcoming season, Murray detailed the first time he met Jordan in an interview with Ashley Nevel.

Via Fadeaway World:

“I met him at the Durham Classic… I was shaking… Nah, I shook his hand, he was talking to us… When you know somebody from afar and you know certain things about him and it’s crazy how the media can portray a picture of you before you can even meet the person. I got to meet and I was like geez, it’s so much different than how I thought. His eyes are so dark and you can see the competitiveness in them… It’s the first time I have been starstruck like that,” the Nuggets star said.

While young players like Murray weren't able to watch Jordan in real life, they have seen the highlights and were reminded of his greatness during the airing of “The Last Dance” earlier this year. MJ is considered the GOAT to many due to his 6-0 record in the NBA Finals and his competitive nature on the court.

Jordan made a mammoth impact on the game, and these reactions from the Nuggets guard and other players highlight that. Since his playing days with the Chicago Bulls, Jordan has been a global icon and continues to be a popular figure today as the owner of the Charlotte Hornets.

During the postseason, Murray showed his own competitive fire in leading the Nuggets to the Western Conference Finals. After coming close to reaching the NBA Finals, Murray hopes to achieve success as Jordan once did by helping Denver win a ring. The Nuggets will certainly be formidable for years to come with Murray and Nikola Jokic leading the way.
