Denver Nuggets rising star Jamal Murray says Portland Trail Blazers superstar point guard Damian Lillard is someone he looks up to.

Murray will be tasked with the challenge of guarding Lillard. The Nuggets and Blazers face each other in the second round of the playoffs. Game 1 is on Tuesday in Denver.

Murray says he's going to guard Lillard from the logo since Dame's new nickname is “logo Lillard.”

“For sure, someone I look up to,” Murray said of Lillard, via Michael Singer of the Denver Post. “Especially his game, his confidence in the way he takes threes, the way he leads his team. He’s not a vocal guy, but leads with example.

“Just him as a being. The way he loves the game, the way he plays, the passion, his competitiveness, his toughness. He goes at his opponents. He just loves to compete. I love to compete. It’s a respect factor. Just go at each other and the best man wins. It’s just going to be a lot of fun to go against a guy that is similar.

“I’m gonna stay at the logo. If he pulls up from there, just shake his hand.”

Murray averaged 19.0 points per game in the Nuggets' first round series win against the San Antonio Spurs. The Nuggets won in seven games, with Murray hitting clutch shots all series.

Lillard, meanwhile, put up 33.0 points versus Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
