Jamal Murray missed the entirety of the 2021-22 NBA season due to his ACL injury. Now over a year and a half since he last suited up for the Denver Nuggets, it looks like the point guard is nearly back to full strength.

The latest report indicated that Jamal Murray was getting some runs in during the Nuggets' NBA Summer League practice on Tuesday. On Wednesday, head coach Michael Malone revealed that that practice hit a high point in the star guard's recovery progress.

Via Mike Singer of The Denver Post:

Malone said that yesterday’s 5-on-5 work from Jamal Murray was the most intense he’s played since tearing his ACL last April. “He was mobile, agile, hostile, versatile. … He looked comfortable. He looked confident. That’s the most important thing.”

The Denver Nuggets have sorely missed Jamal Murray – and nobody more than Nikola Jokic. The Serbian superstar has turned in back-to-back MVP seasons and yet hasn't had the chance to showcase his talents in the postseason with a roster complete with his co-stars in Murray and Michael Porter Jr. healthy and available.

Murray was having his best season on the offensive side before he got injured, averaging career highs in points at 21.2 per game, field goal shooting at 47.7 percent and three-point shooting at 40.8 percent.

Despite missing a year of his prime, Jamal Murray is still just 25 years old. If he can return to his previous form and gradually make his injury a thing of the past, the Denver Nuggets can once again be a serious threat in the West next season.
