Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray has improved his counting stats this season, but his shooting numbers have dipped. Saturday night, Murray helped those numbers in a big way by dropping 46 points on 9-of-11 shooting from 3-point range. This came after a 31-point game, and Murray is confident that more huge performances are coming:

“It’s my greatest threat, and it hasn’t been falling all season,” Jamal Murray said to Mike Singer of The Denver Post. “Once it starts falling, I’m gonna have more nights like this.”

Murray is starting to put his shooting demons behind him. He's 13-for-18 from behind the arc over his last two games to get up to 33.0 percent on the season. Murray is such a dynamic scorer because he doesn't need to focus so much on facilitating. Nikola Jokic is the best passing big man in the game, which frees up Murray to look for his shot. Jokic lauded Murray after the game:

“I always say nobody can stop him,” Jokic said to Singer about Murray. “He actually talked to me. He’s like, ‘Just give me the ball. I’m feeling really, really good tonight.’ So I just gave him the ball. He did the rest.”

Jokic can score with the best of them, but he also knows that Murray can carry the Nuggets offensively when he's on his game. Saturday night was proof as Jokic dished out nine assists.

Denver sits atop the Western Conference at 23-11. Murray's scoring bursts and Jokic's ability to facilitate are two of the biggest reasons for Denver's success this season.
