Jamal Murray would take RJ Barrett over Zion Williamson
Denver Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray likes what he sees in Zion Williamson’s game. However, it sounds like Murray would take RJ Barrett in the upcoming NBA Draft — if it were his decision to make.
Murray made his stance clear in a recent interview with The Undefeated. Just keep in mind that he and Barrett are fellow Canadians.

Williamson and Barrett are projected to be top picks in this year’s draft. Exactly where the former teammates will be selected is still up for debate, but most experts have them going in the top-5. In Zion’s case, it will likely be No. 1 overall.
As Murray said during his interview with The Undefeated, Barrett’s game was often overshadowed by Zion’s popularity. Despite that fact, Barrett still managed to rack up an impressive stat line in his lone season with Duke.
In 38 appearances with the Blue Devils (all starts), Barrett racked up averages of 22.6 points on 45.4 percent shooting from the field (30.8 percent from beyond the arc), 7.6 rebounds, 4.3 rebounds and just under one steal (0.9) in 35.3 minutes per outing.
The Nuggets, who do not have a first or second round pick in the upcoming draft, finished the 2018-19 regular season campaign with a 54-28 overall record, which earned the team a No. 2 seed in the Western Conference Playoffs. Unfortunately, though, Denver was eliminated by the Portland Trail Blazers in the semifinal round.
