The Denver Nuggets are set to take on the Golden State Warriors Saturday night in the first game of their first-round series. Denver navigated the season relatively successfully without Jamal Murray. The point guard missed the entire year due to an ACL tear from last April.

He wasn't expected to play at all this year, but that might change ahead of the Nuggets' postseason run. Nuggets President of Basketball Operations Tim Connelly said he would not be surprised if Murray showed up ready to play next week. Connelly told sports radio host Vic Lombardi that the 25-year-old is in the “red zone of recovery.”

Lombardi tweeted the update Wednesday morning.

Less than a week ago, Murray was ruled out for the Nuggets regular season finale, and was not expected to make an appearance in the playoffs.

While many injuries and game day designations are based on the opinion of doctors and team officials, this doesn't seem to be the case for Murray. Connelly sounded more than ready to see the fifth-year player back on the court. “When Jamal feels like he's ready, he's gonna sprint out there,” Connelly said Wednesday.

The Nuggets are also without small forward Michael Porter Jr. He only played in nine games before being sidelined with a back injury. Unlike Murray, it's definite that Porter will remain sidelined through the postseason tournament.
