Add former NBA player Jeremy Lin to those impressed by Denver Nuggets rookie Michael Porter Jr.'s statement game in Game 5 against the Los Angeles Clippers. The 6-foot-10 forward was the subject of headlines entering Friday's match following his unsavory comments about not getting enough touches in their last game.

A lot of people felt the brash rookie's assumptions were in bad taste, considering the Nuggets have two established stars in Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray who deserve to have the ball in their hands come crunch time. Denver coach Michael Malone felt Porter should have kept the issue in-house. Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard even figured in a heated debate online on why Porter was way out of line on this one.

But as far as Lin is concerned, the Nuggets' youngster simply showed assertiveness and desire to win at all costs against the heavily-favored Clippers team. Linsanity had this to say after Porter put up two magnificent plays to preserve Denver's 11-105 comeback win in Game 5.

Michael Porter Jr. repaid coach Malone's trust when the game was on the line, as he completed two of the biggest plays of the game down the stretch. He nailed a dagger 3-pointer to halt the Clippers' momentum and proceeded to erase Ivica Zubac's dunk attempt on the other end. The University of Missouri product only had seven points and five rebounds on the night, but his fearless attitude helped the Nuggets stave off elimination.

Jeremy Lin, meanwhile, definitely appreciates courageous displays on the basketball court whenever he sees one. The undrafted guard rose from obscurity in the 2011-12 season and gave birth to the Linsanity phenomenon back when he played for the New York Knicks. The veteran journeyman won a championship with the Toronto Raptors last year before joining the Beijing Ducks in the CBA this season.
